The Script Hive discord server runs a weekly exercise called the One Page Challenge. Participants are given a short prompt and must write an effective single page that utilises it. The submissions are voted on by the community and a winner is selected. This activity is great practice for developing writers like me, encouraging us to be concise, and deliver a punchy one-shot pitch for a wider story.<\/p>\n
I have won this exercise a number of times throughout my time participating. My most recent winning page was based on the prompt “Four characters”. I wrote HORSEMEET, a short comedic scene where the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse hold a corporate meeting. A more professional member of the server encouraged me to develop the idea further.
